Step 1: Share Garmin Connect Data with Apple Health
According to Garmin, Garmin Connect Mobile (GCM) version 2.6 and above provides support for the Apple Health application. (In other words, you can share your steps data with Apple Health, and that's where we collect your steps data.)
Follow these steps to enable sharing:
Open the Apple Health app.
Tap on "Sources" from the bottom menu.
Tap Connect
Toggle to enable "Steps" data to Write to Health (you may also want to enable Read from Health).
Once Connect sharing is enabled in Health, the steps data will begin syncing with the Apple Health after each successful device sync in Connect Mobile. Please note that, at this time, data is shared with Apple Health while the Connect Mobile app is in the foreground. If the app is closed or sent to the background, the transfer of data will not complete until a successful sync with the device while the Connect Mobile app is open. You should then be sure to fully sync your Garmin tracker with the Connect app before opening and refreshing FIT COMPASS CHALLENGES. (Again, syncing must be completed fully while the Connect app is in the foreground, or your data will not be shared.)Once sharing is enabled, the Health app will only display previously recorded data from up to two weeks prior to the sharing being enabled. Additionally, once Health syncing is enabled, it can only be disabled from the Sources list in the Health app, not from Connect.
Step 2: Download the Fit Compass Challenges app
Use the same username and password you use for the Challenge portal on your computer.
Step 3: Connect Apple Health with Fit Compass Challenges
Open your Apple Health app (pink heart icon)
Under SOURCES, click on Fit Compass Challenges.
Make sure you have allowed it to read your data from HealthKit by enabling available categories (Active Energy, Heart Rate, Steps, Walking + Running Distance)
Step 4: Open Fit Compass Challenges
a) Click on the Settings icon in the top right corner of your screen. b) Enable SYNC FROM APPLE HEALTH to begin pulling your data to your Challenge account. c) Follow the instructions provided to authorize your personal wellness account to link to Apple HealthKit. This can be enabled at any time in your SETTINGS. You will need to log into the Fit Compass Challenges app in order to pull new step or other activity data from Apple Health.
You will be able to view all your syncing data by logging into the desktop portal and looking in the Fitness section under Devices, or in your Dashboard > Journals section.
