The Outdoors Intervention to Improving Mental Health (August-September 2019)
Summer is the perfect time to get outside and invest in your well-being. Studies* have shown that leisure time spent outdoors, especially in nature, can improve focus and creativity, while reducing stress and anxiety. KKR Wellness Works is investing in teams that are interested in improving their mental health by engaging in the great outdoors.
Now through Monday, August 12th at 5:00pm ET, we are accepting applications for a “scholarship” of up to $1,000 to support you and your team in spending time outside. Go on a group hike or consider a kayaking or rock climbing excursion.
Scholarships will be awarded based on the following criteria:
The activity must take place outdoors, ideally in a natural setting and on a weekday evening or weekend (creativity is also considered)
Only “teams” can apply and should be based on business or functional area (e.g., Real Estate Credit or Financial Planning & Analysis) and a high participation rate from your team (by percentage) is also required
The activity must allow for people of all fitness levels to participate
Teams will need to provide images from the activity along with feedback on how it went
The outdoor activity must take place by Sunday, September 29th
Just fill out this application by Monday, August 12th at 5:00pm ET. We’ll inform teams if they’ve been awarded a scholarship by Wednesday, August 14th.
